Lead Pastor-

Dr. Benjamin Norris
Pastor Ben grew up in a military family, graduating from the University of Washington in Business Administration & Accounting. He went on to graduate from the Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City with a Masters of Divinity. He has started an inner-city ministry in K.C., served as a Senior Pastor in California and has been here in Oak Harbor since 1992. Married to Lisa for twenty-four years, they are being razed by "Archie" the black lab. "PB" earned his Doctor of Divinity at NTS.

He enjoys all that the northwest and island life have to offer, including backpacking and salmon fishing. PB is currently restoring a 1957 (a good year in his mind!) Chevy pickup and rides a Valkerie street bike, joining the church motorcycle gang. Dr. Ben has read more than 3,000 books and loves epic movies, blackberry pies, the Orioles, Packers, Mariners and Seahawks. But most of all, "Go Huskies!"-which really just proves Christ is the only answer!

Pastor of Connection and Counseling-

Dr. Ivan Lathrop
An ordained minister in the Church of the Nazarene and a registered counselor, Pastor Ivan got his start at Seattle Pacific University and graduated from Northwest Nazarene University. They were only colleges back then, but who's counting?? He went on to Nazarene Theological Seminary, earning both Masters and Doctor of Ministries degrees.

In 55 years of marriage, Ivan and Virginia have had a very interesting ministry as a Senior Pastor in the States, as well as 10 years in Lebanon, 5 in Jordan, and 6 in Japan teaching in the College. They are proud parents of 4 children and 10 grandchildren. Pastor Ivan loves the Bible, the Mariners, Seahawks, Huskies, and marriage and family counseling.

Chris and Cherie Reiter
Pastor Chris grew up in Susanville, CA playing soccer and eating Jimmy Dean's Pure Pork Sausages. His futbol skills earned him a spot on the Southern Nazarene University team, where he graduated in 2001 with a degree in Theology. Cherie (Ketchum), a native of western Oregon graduated in 2000 from Northwest Nazarene University, majoring in Music. Their first gig as Youth Pastor and Worship Pastor at a church in Idaho led them to each other. They married in March, 2005 and headed off to Nazarene Theological Seminary to pursue further education.

They began their ministry at OHNAZ in June of 2006. Abby and Micah fill their life, and our church, with joy.
Administration Pastor-

Kit McCartney

Pastor Kit has been a member of this church for 30+ years. She is wife to Pat, mother to 3 grown children, 4 cats, 1 dog, and now her mother from West Virginia. Pastor Kit is a certificated minister in the Church of the Nazarene and very well respected. Pastor Kit is a graduate of Glenville State College, and is also an instructor with the Developmental Education department at Skagit Valley College. She loves RV camping, reading the "Chronicles of Narnia" and watching "Joan of Arcadia" reruns.
Children's Director-

Tim O'Brien

A native of Michigan, Tim spent 27 years in the US Navy, rising through the ranks to Lieutenant Commander. Tim and Covina have been married 26 years. Incredibly, during this time they have had 4 natural boys, 5 adopted children, and have hosted 133 foster children for various lengths of time. Tim obviously loves kids and was a natural to come on staff after his Navy retirement.

He is head of the local sports referees association and loves all sports, especially baseball . Besides the Oak Harbor Wildcats, his favorite team is the Miami Dolphins. Tim likes to eat popcorn while watching "Veggie Tales" movies.
